I have designed and managed many residential builds, from one-off houses to extensions, alterations and loft conversions. Clients have included writer Robert Macfarlane and TV's Richard Osman.
Uplands in Suffolk (pictured below) won the RIBA East Spirit of Ingenuity Award for Best House.
This new house on the Shotley peninsular uses oak cladding, copper butterfly roofs and the local brick and tile vernacular to recreate the Arts and Crafts aesthetic in a contemporary way.
Below: Private house in central Cambridge, listed Grade II and in the Kite conservation area. I designed this sensitive alteration scheme, adding a timber-clad first floor extension and a fully glazed music space to maximise the use of the small courtyard garden.
Below: Townhouse in central Cambridge. This refurbishment scheme made use of a large existing attic and redundant garage to create a much larger family home within the existing envelope. The loft conversion has stunning views of Midsummer Common.
Below: New single-storey house for a retired couple in Newnham, Cambridge. The house was built in the rear garden of the family home, accessed via a track at the backs of neighbouring houses. It makes maximum use of natural light and has a small courtyard garden.
